Part of developing your skincare regimen involves an appropriate first visit consult. During this time both you and your provider can discuss your skincare concerns, needs, and expectations. In collaboration as team an appropriate action plans can be developed. As you would expect your provider to come prepared to the appointment, the same is expected of you the patient. At Buffalo Aesthetics, we have generated a list of how best be prepared for your initial consult as seen below.
- Avoid Alcohol 24-48 hours prior to appointment
- Hydrate well 24 hours prior to appointment
- Avoid NSAID’s (Motrin, Advil, Ibuprofen, etc.) 24 hours pre-appointment
- Avoid heavy application of makeup
- Wash your face with a non-scented gentle face wash
- Come in with examples of pictures of faces you like
- Know your medication list
- Know your pregnancy status
- Know your allergies
- Prior surgeries
- Know your aesthetic history (last laser treatment, chemical peel, Botox session, etc.)
- Do not shave < 24 hours of appointment
- Review procedures of interest, do your research online, come with questions
- Understand the limits of the procedure you are considering
- Be aware of general costs of procedures
