Microneedling is one of the most popular skin rejuvenation techniques because it stimulates natural healing. Also known as collagen induction therapy, this unique treatment involves making thousands of micro-channels on the skin’s surface to trigger the body’s innate healing processes. Your body responds to the micro-injuries by stimulating collagen production, making your skin look tighter, firmer, smoother, and more youthful. Our cosmetic providers can also combine microneedling with radiofrequency energy (RF) or platelet-rich plasmas (PRP) to boost the results.

Your Microneedling Options
Standard Microneedling
The standard microneedling involves making thousands of micro-injuries on the skin’s surface using a specialized device. Your body responds to the micro-injuries by activating cellular regeneration and collagen production. Collagen is a fibrous protein that makes your skin look firm and taut, holding it upright against the force of gravity. The loss of collagen because of the aging process is the primary reason for sagging skin. Microneedling restores your collagen reserves, thus reversing the signs of aging.
Microneedling + PRP
Our treatments of microneedling in Buffalo can be combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy to boost the results. PRP is a component of the human blood with a high concentration of growth factors, the components responsible for the body’s innate healing activities, such as blood clots. The cosmetic provider draws a small sample of your blood, isolates the PRPs, and applies them to your face after microneedling, i.e., when your pores are receptive to the serum. The growth factors boost collagen production, improving the results.
RF Microneedling (Morpheus8)
Microneedling can also be combined with radiofrequency energy. We use a specialized, FDA-approved RF microneedling device known as Morpheus8. During this procedure, the cosmetic provider makes micro-injuries on the skin’s surface using the Morpheus8 device while simultaneously delivering radiofrequency waves deep into your tissues. Radiofrequency energy stimulates collagen production deep within the skin’s dermal layers, thus catalyzing and improving the results of standard microneedling.
Benefits of Microneedling:
- Non-surgical treatment — no scars, incisions, or injections
- Performed under topical anesthesia — minimal discomfort
- No post-treatment pain or discomfort
- Minimal side effects and negligible risk of complications
- Stimulates natural collagen production underneath the skin
- No downtime or recovery period — resume daily activities immediately
- Completely natural results with no signs of cosmetic work
Your Microneedling Journey
Consultation
Your journey with microneedling starts with a personalized consultation with our cosmetic providers. They will assess your skin type and conditions to customize the depth of microneedling. Furthermore, they will also inform you about your options, such as RF microneedling and PRP microneedling, to help you make an educated decision.
Procedure
A numbing gel will be applied to your facial skin to ensure comfort during the treatment. The cosmetic provider will move the microneedling device over your skin to produce micro-injuries and stimulate collagen production. You might feel a pinch when the microneedles puncture your skin’s surface, but the discomfort is minimal.
If you opt for microneedling with PRP, the cosmetic provider will draw a small sample of your blood via a syringe. Your blood will be placed in a centrifuge to isolate the PRPs, which will rise to the top of the vial. After microneedling, the PRP serum will be applied to your skin, allowing the growth factors to seep into your skin.

Recovery
Microneedling doesn’t involve any downtime. Your skin will look red, sort of like a mild sunburn. You may also experience mild swelling, irritation, and discomfort on the face for a day or two. You can resume your daily activities and work immediately, but you should avoid strenuous workouts and direct sunlight for a day. If you go outside, please wear sunscreen.
Results
Microneedling stimulates natural collagen production, so the results will gradually appear over several weeks and months. Most patients need 3 to 6 sessions spaced a few weeks apart for optimal results. Your cosmetic provider will recommend the ideal treatment schedule for you. Over time, your skin will look smoother, firmer, tighter, and more youthful, and the acne scars will gradually fade away.
