What is QWO Cellulite Treatment?

QWO cellulite treatment is a non-surgical, FDA-approved treatment for reducing moderate to severe cellulite on the buttocks of adult female individuals. The QWO medicine contains enzymes, known as collagenases, that target the root cause of cellulite underneath the skin, thus helping you achieve smooth, cellulite-free skin. However, it’s worth highlighting that this treatment only addresses actual cellulite and not skin laxity that may resemble cellulite.

QWO Corrects:

  • Unwanted cellulite dimples on the buttocks
  • Textural irregularities on the skin caused by the tightening of fibrous septae

How it Works

The term “cellulite” refers to the dimpling on the skin, usually on the buttocks. This happens when the collagen-rich fibrous septae in the dermal layer of the skin get pulled tighter and tighter because of various factors, such as aging and hormonal changes. The fibrous septae are like connective tissues between the skin and fat tissues, so when they’re pulled tighter, they also draw your skin down into the deep tissues, leading to cellulite dimples.

QWO is a medicine made of collagenase enzymes. When injected carefully into targeted areas underneath the skin, QWO releases the fibrous septae that pull your skin tissues deeper, making your skin look smooth and firm. Furthermore, QWO also stimulates natural collagen production underneath the skin, making your skin look firmer and tighter, thus reducing the visibility of cellulite. The results improve with each session.

Your QWO Journey

QWO cellulite treatment is a safe, in-office procedure that concludes within 30 minutes. The cosmetic provider or physician marks circles around all the cellulite dimples on your skin and applies a numbing gel to ensure comfort. The cosmetic provider will carefully inject QWO into all the strategically targeted cellulite dimples using ultrafine needles. You can only receive treatments for 6 to 12 cellulite dimples per buttock, so you may need additional sessions if all the cellulite can’t be covered.

QWO cellulite treatment doesn’t involve downtime or an extended recovery period. Your buttocks may feel a little sore, and you may experience mild redness, swelling, bruising, and discomfort for a few days. You can resume your daily activities and work immediately, but you should avoid strenuous workouts for a few days.

The QWO results gradually appear after 10 weeks once the body starts producing new collagen fibers and releasing the tightened fibrous septae. Most patients need 3 QWO cellulite treatments spaced 3 weeks apart for optimal results, but your cosmetic provider will curate the ideal treatment plan based on your needs. The final results last for several years.

Candidates for QWO Cellulite Treatment:

  • Have actual cellulite caused by the tightening of fibrous septae
  • Have cellulite dimples in the buttocks
  • Are female — QWO is only FDA-approved for women
  • Are physically and mentally healthy
  • Don’t have underlying medical conditions that preclude QWO treatment
  • Have realistic expectations from the procedure

Patients often confuse sagging skin with cellulite. As you grow older, the loss of collagen leads to skin laxity and sagging skin tissues, making your skin look wrinkled and “crepey” — this is not the same as cellulite. You can’t get QWO treatment for skin laxity. If you want to determine if the dimpling on your skin is truly cellulite, you can lift the skin above the dimples. If the dimples go away, you have skin laxity, and if the dimples remain, you have actual cellulite.
