What Is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is a fractional radiofrequency resurfacing tool. What does that mean? Tiny sterile needles repeatedly puncture the skin while also transmitting radiofrequency energy to be more effective than a traditional microneedling treatment. The needles penetrate the subdermal tissue, while the radiofrequency energy stimulates new collagen, elastin, and formation of new blood vessels. Morpheus8 also works to remodel fat. By purposely causing damage to the dermal layer of the skin, an inflammatory response is induced, which works to build collagen while also preserving the epidermal layer of the skin.

The depth of penetration of the needles are adjustable, as well as energy levels. Depending on the place of treatment, different depths/energy levels are required. In the face 1 to 2 mm of depth would be appropriate. If treating the body, a depth of 3 to 4 mm would be appropriate.

What Areas Does Morpheus8 Treat?

Morpheus8 can treat the whole body. The face, neck, and décolletage would be the most common areas of treatment for Morpheus8. Concerns of the face that Morpheus8 can treat include: sun damage, skin texture, superficial and deep wrinkles, acne scarring, jowling, and fat. Morpheus8 can also be used to treat the body including: arms, abdomen, legs, buttocks, chest, and neck.

How Many Treatments Are Necessary?

A series of 3 treatments are typically recommended. These treatments would be spaced about 5 weeks apart.

How Long Till I See Results?

While everyone is unique and healing times may vary, results can be seen as soon as 3 days following treatment. Optimal results will be seen in the weeks following treatment, usually around 1 month. Improvements may be seen months after treatment as it may take up to 6 months for collagen to form. Studies have shown dermal remodeling 10 weeks after treatment with increased volume, hyaluronic acid, and elastin content.
